The peninsula Laem Srithanu lies on the west coast between Hin Kong and Ao Chao Pao / Haad Yao. The water here is relatively low all year round and therefore also suitable for younger children to splash about. Srithanu is a quiet place and ideal for relaxing, Few restaurants and bars are open until late at night. The town of Srithanu has many small shops, restaurants and cafes. You will also find bakeries, fruit and vegetable stalls and a kind of mom and pop shop. Of course, the compulsory 7 / 11 is not missing either. There are a lot of long term bungalows in and around Srithanu, but also beautiful resorts right on the beach. At the northern end is Laem Son Lake, formerly a tin mine.
Activities in Srithanu
The area around Sri Thanu and Hin Kong is known for their Yoga Schools and Retreat Center, It is said that there is a special spiritual atmosphere here. The offer is varied: Yoga drop-in classes and Yoga Teacher Training, Meditation, Detox programs, Ecstatic Dance, Rebirthing, Tantra Workshops, Women's and Men's Circles, Vegan Nutrition and much, much more. No matter what you are interested in, in Srithanu you will find it. We can especially recommend Orion Healing Center, Samma Karuna, One yoga and Ananda Yoga.
The so-called Zen Beach, approximately at the level of the lake, is THE meeting place for Sunset in Srithanu. Around an open hearth, drummers and other musicians come to Jam Sessions almost every night.
Restaurants and bars in Srithanu
In keeping with the wishes of the yogis, there are many in this area vegetarian and vegan restaurantswho mainly use organic products.
Thai food is special Mom Kop popular and known for cheap and good dishes. You'll find the restaurant at the end of the lake, north of 7/11. It is also in this direction Good Time Restaurant (Thai food and western cuisine). Are also recommended Il Baracuda (Pizza, pasta, fish), as well Taboon (Mediterranean). The very popular, almost legendary, Three Monkeys Bar right on the beach, usually opens to the sunset and is one of the few bars which are open until after midnight. You can reach them either from the beach, or over a bridge at the boat launchers at the south end. From here, the path leads along the water and ends just behind the bar.

Great location right on the beach and only five minutes walk from the center of Srithanu. The resort has a pool and a good restaurant.

Great location on Cape Srithanu with a “private” beach. The town center of Srithanu is within walking distance. The resort has two pools and an excellent restaurant.

Travel
From Thongsala, the coastal road leads you directly to the center of Srithanu. With the scooter you need about 20 minutes driving time. If you take a taxi you have to expect about 250 Bath. Taxi fares can vary widely and depend on season, number of passengers and time of day.
