From Estonia to the whole world

Everything started 2008 in Estonia, where on 15. September around 50.000 citizens for five hours together to liberate the country from the garbage. This movement has spread globally. Take this year 150 countries participate in the action around the globe. The goal is to win five percent of the world's population for this project. This is the statistical number of people needed to make a lasting change.

World Cleanup Day 2018 - the largest civil, peaceful action in the world

Every year, 8 land millions of tons of garbage in the oceans, of which 80 percent is landfill. As the waste begins to decompose, chemicals and toxins are created that enter the food and water cycle through the water and air. It is not a local but a global problem that affects us all. With this action, the world has set a signal again today. From New Zealand to Hawaii have become Millions of people at the same time used for a clean and healthy planet.

Environmental awareness is rising on Koh Phangan

On Koh Phangan the event was organized by Eco Thailand Foundation, Earthforce FS / Pacifist Warriors Asia and Trash Hero Thailand. Large retailers have sent staff delegations and donated garbage bags and gloves. The island administration not only worked with, but also ensured the waste disposal and provided all participants with drinking water. Of course, members of the various environmental departments were actively involved, they were also available for questions. Many Thais came with the whole family, from the old man to the toddler were all enthusiastically in the thing.

There are two times a month on Koh Phangan Beach Cleanup, organized by Trash Hero Koh Phangan. The Eco Thailand Foundation operates awareness training at schools and at public events. The awareness of the employees of the big retail chains is plastic prevention noticeably increased and very many food stalls, restaurants and shops are switching from styrofoam containers to cardboard boxes. Plastic straws are a big topic on the island, and great changes are underway here as well.
