We started the trip and tried Inner Walk. The innermost part becomes an adventure park - roller coaster, bungee jumping and horror cabinet included. We have gathered facts, information and personal information.

What is Inner Walk?

Inner Walk is a donation-based, four-day Vippassana meditation, Meet each other at noon Monday through Thursday at 12, start with a roundtable, then walk up and down for four hours and end up with a sharing cicle where the experiences can be shared. Incidentally, the participants, depending on the speed, back between 60 and 80 kilometers in these four days.

Who invented it?

This concept was launched by Prah Orlan, the monk with the most contagious laugh I've ever heard of Wat Samai Kongka, In his work with us "Westerners" he first realized that we have great difficulty sitting still while meditating. He realized that humans had to move a lot more a few hundred years ago and therefore had to sit in order to look inward, whereas in our modern age we have to move much less and therefore have to go to do the same. Second, tell him that we humans today tend to constantly distract ourselves and virtually run away from ourselves. So he thought, researched and tried - the result is Inner Walk: four days, four hours each, on 15 meters, in the group, silently walking up and down. The program is carried out in cooperation with the Wonderland Healing Centerwhich provides the instructor.

Why do you do that?

Most will know it, this thought carousel in our mind that we can barely silence. Who has not started to read, just to find out at the bottom of the page that you have no haze of content. Often one finds oneself doing a conversation of the day before yesterday again and again in thoughts durchzuspielen, which one could have said better, and already one is in a dialogue in which one embodies both sides themselves. We learn from the instructor the mechanisms behind it and how to handle it.

The goal is to learn to accept his thoughts, feelings and emotions, but not to follow them but rather to observe them. The role of an observer is always neutral, while the role of the thinker is always opinionated. The walking meditation makes our mind calmer and clearer, through the awakening of the observer, we can meet difficult topics neutrally and classify them better.

Prah Orlan brings us closer to the meaning and benefits of meditation from a Buddhist point of view. Why it is so important to be in the here & now and why it makes so little sense to deal with yesterday & tomorrow. “Relax” is his favorite word, because everything will pass and we can trust that. It is a truth.

Heart Walk Meditation as a response

What does the Inner Walk do with our body?

Well, our bodies show a lot of different responses to hours of walking. Feet, legs, knees, hips and back have their say. This pain is usually not exclusively physical. The processes inside us also manifest in the body. It helps to focus on the pain, to observe it. After a while, one is surprised to find that he has passed. Some also report optical processes, such as the soil seems to move, or the vegetation suddenly appears sharper and more colorful.

What is the inner walk doing inside us?

This is a very personal experience for everyone and different for everyone. In any case, the Inner Walk brings us closer to ourselves, because when was the last time you spent four hours at a time just with yourself? At the beginning it often happens that participants are bored or frustrated. Often you start to count the steps or to sing. Over the course of the four days, deep insights and insights can come, tears can flow, there can be loud laughter, some people suddenly realize what they want to do with their lives, or they can spontaneously forgive themselves and others.

For whom is the Inner Walk suitable?

Basically for every person. You do not need any prior knowledge, all you need is yourself.

Who is the Inner Walk for? not suitable?

If you have musculoskeletal issues, let's say from the waist down, the strain of walking for hours on end may be too much for you. This is no longer a pain that can be “meditated away”, but simply an overload on your body that you may have to suffer for days or even weeks. The same applies to diagnosed mental illnesses. The processes inside you can be so violent and upsetting that they plunge you into a crisis. However, you can always discuss your specific situation in advance with Prah Orlan or a Wonderland course instructor.

How to continue after the Inner Walk?

Many decide to attach another four days because the simple clarity and calm inside feels so good. Some report that they are more sensitive to their environment, feel connected, or appreciate their lives more. The best thing about this practice, however, is that you can apply the techniques you have learned anytime, anywhere with room for up and down 15 meters.

Personal experiences

"The first two days made me feel very calm and mentally relaxed. It was relatively quiet in my mind, as I always wish for my classical meditation exercises. I felt great gratitude, deep closeness and unbridled joy. But then day three and four came over me. It was almost impossible for me to control the mental disorder. Completely banal things, such as domestic politics of my home country, plans for the weekend and so on and so forth, gave the mental catch in the hand. However, in the midst of all this confusion, I was able to trace two behaviors that had been troublesome for a long time to my childhood. With an unprecedented clarity, I have recognized cause and effect, which makes future work on these topics much easier. Actually, this was already the lion's share done. I'll go to the Inner Walk again. "Elisabeth
