The military is currently in Haad Rin, checking building permits and buildings on the beach.

An Army task force is currently controlling Full Moon Party Beach. 13 Buildings or “structures” are intended to be located on the beach (and not on land adjacent to the beach). In Thailand, it is forbidden to build permanent structures on beaches as this land is declared public. The relevant owners have now been given until June 20th to demolish it. This has already been communicated to operators, but only four have so far complied with the request.

Anything in violation of the guidelines that has not been removed by June 20th will be demolished by the authorities at the expense of the owners. All operators have promised to meet the deadline.

Previously, the military already had other areas such as the beach on Than Sadet as in Srithanu controlled. Final decisions are apparently still pending here. On too Samui and Phuket were already demolished illegal buildings.
