The Royal Thai Police have ordered increased security measures for Thailand's tourist centers following the Paris attacks and especially the Full Moon Party taking place today.The responsible Pole Lt Gen Thesa Siriwatho of Police Region 8 has requested additional police officers for all major tourist destinations in his area. Checkpoints must be set up at all piers and bus stations and airports.
For the Full Moon Party on the 25. November is high alert: Overall 8 different police and army teams to ensure the safety of the largest beach party in Asia.
The Full Moon Party takes place monthly in Haad Rin, in the south of the island and takes off 10-30.000 visitors every month on. November is actually still in the low season, but since the party this year falls on the end of the month, the visitor numbers could already be higher again.
