What Reiki is and who can learn it
Reiki sits down two syllables together:

Basically EVERYONE become a channel for universal energy, you do not need special skills or special knowledge. Reiki, the universal energy, always flows. It is said that Healing by laying on of hands is a natural but forgotten technique inherent in all of us. The only thing you need is the will or desire to learn Reiki.
The story of the "rediscovery" of Reiki
Mikaomi Usui was on 15. 8. 1865 born in Yago, southern Japan. He came from a wealthy family running his own business, but he was never a successful businessman himself. He was married and had a daughter and a son. He died on 9.3.1926.
Dr. Mikao Usui was a Shinto Buddhist outside of the materialistic realm after the meaning of life asked. He was a simple and kind-hearted man who steadily expanded his knowledge by studying many different sciences. He explored the area of Psychology, Astrology and theology of all religions, but was also heavily involved in other metaphysical disciplines.
In search of answers to his profound questions about life, Usui learned several languages such as Chinesisch and English, He also studied Sanskrit, the language of ancient Indian scriptures, and Hebräisch along with his religious and spiritual teachings. In these ancient writings he discovered instructions for that Heal with your handsjust as Jesus, Buddha and other enlightened ones had done before him.
After his discovery, he returned to Japan to climb Mount Kurama in Tokyo, where he fasted, prayed and meditated for 21 days. On the last day of his isolation on the mountain he experienced a revelation, enlightenment and initiation into the Reiki system.
First, he freed himself, his family and friends from all sorts of suffering by laying on his hands. As the news of his mystical powers spread quickly, people were standing in front of his house, hoping he could heal them as well.
He then made Reiki his life purpose and began offering seminars, workshops and healing sessions. As more and more people asked for his services and his house just did not have enough space to meet such a high demand, he founded 1921 in Tokyo his first Reiki clinic. When the big earthquake shook 1923 Tokyo and thousands of injured people came to his clinic for treatment, he opened a new one in Nakano, where he later moved privately.
Until his death Usui inaugurated about 2000 people into the Reiki system. His most famous student regularly held seminars and training sessions in the Reiki centers and clinics established by Usui throughout Japan. His many dedicated Reiki students, masters and teachers recognized and honored him as their own Grandmaster and surrounded him until he died 1926.
The Reiki system
One of the students Mikao Usuis, Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, has over the years become a close associate and confidant, and the appointed Successor Usuis, Hayashi opened and ran a Reiki Healing Clinic in Tokyo. One of the patients Mrs. Hawayo Takata, was so impressed with the Reiki practice that she spent a full year at the clinic studying Reiki herself. The initiation in the first and second degree she received 1936, then she went to Hawaii to work there until 1938 as a healer. Ms. Takata 1940 received her Masters Degree from Dr. Ing. Hayashi and took her work as Headmaster in the year 1941 up. Before the war between America and Japan, Dr. Hayashi wife Takata as his successorto prevent the teachings of Reiki from being lost during the war.
Ms. Takata, in turn, appointed her granddaughter Phyllis Lei Furumoto 1979 to her successor, After all, it was Ms. Furumoto's 1988 that started Reiki Masters around the world with the original symbols to get acquainted and the knowledge of the inauguration rituals to pass on to her. The grand masters were thus obsolete, this paved the way for today's known free Reiki Master / Teacher System.
The Reiki system is in four degrees divided with immutable order. Each degree is complete in itself. The seminars are held by a Reiki teacher who is trained to perform the necessary initiations. The first two levels of personal experience

In Reiki, as with almost everything you learn, it comes down to the practice. The more you practice and practice, the more you will feel and the more confident you become. After initiating a Reiki degree, physical, mental, and spiritual changes usually occur. There is a kind of purification and reformation. The most intense phase extends over the first 21 days. Which brings us a parallel to Dr. Usui's 21-day period on Mount Kurama.

To work with and understand symbols, you should already have accepted that it is very possible that reality is more than you can see and attack.
The Distant Healing symbol opens the door to time and space, you could say. This makes it possible to carry out treatments over long distances and to send Reiki energy into the past and the future. For example, one can treat traumas suffered in the past, or alleviate fears of an impending event. It also strengthens the connection between you and your patient, so you can better respond to it.
The Mental healing symbol serves to release energy blockages and to balance feelings and emotions. The power symbol reinforces the previously used symbols and also strengthens the power of your treatment. All three symbols together are also used for the energetic cleaning of rooms.
At the last two degrees ends my personal experience for the time being. Therefore, I would like to briefly mention them here for the sake of completeness.
The third level is the master degree. You'll learn to use five more symbols, as well as the basics of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).

My teacher Klaus
I have never before experienced such a down-to-earth, sober and at the same time spiritual person like Klaus.
