Traditional Thai Dessert: Mango Sticky Rice
The delicious dessert mango Sticky rice is a very popular sweet that is often found in markets. It is made from sticky rice, coconut milk and a ripe mango.
Ingredients:
- 1 mug sticky rice
- 1 mug coconut milk
- 1 ripe, yellow mango
- 2 pinches of salt
- 2 EL sugar
Just before the rice is cooked, you can start preparing the coconut milk.
Heat the milk in medium sauce in a saucepan and simmer with constant stirring. Please make sure that the coconut milk does not start to cook, otherwise it will clot! Add sugar and salt and remove the pot from the stove. Pour ¾ of the liquid over the hot sticky rice and let it draw for 5 minutes. The sticky rice absorbs the entire coconut milk and thus obtains a mushy consistency.
Peel the ripe mango and cut it in half. When cutting, please pay attention to the flat core, which is in the middle of the mango. Put half of the mango on a plate and cut into mouth-sized pieces.
Now put the sticky rice on the plate, next to the mango, pour some of the coconut milk mixture over the sticky rice and enjoy the delicious dessert.
